You're close to the mark. I don't personally know them, but the video was sent my way by a co-worker. The people who made the animations are ALSO co-workers, apparently.
"Bar Fight" was a side project by an MTV animation staffer who spent (I believe) 8 months working on this piece, creating sound effects by hand, using chicken carcasses and watermelons, etc. Bones were broken. Melon flesh crushed. Refreshing to see hand-done animation in this age of flash/computer/cgi work. Reminds me of the earliest Simpsons.

When I was in town a few weeks ago, warren told me his roommate just started animating a series for cartoon network. That must be him/her.
