Project For Aspiring Filmmakers: Faux 3-D!

One of these days, I'm going to make a stupid little film shot in plain old 2-D, but I will present it as if it had been shot for 3-D, sprinkling plenty of cheap "look! 3-D!" gags throughout. Take this boring Three Stooges film, for example...

It's a terrible three stooges short. But it's also a really good 3D movie, because stuff is flying off the screen all the time. I saw "dial M for murder" in 3D in the theater, and was thoroughly disappointed; hitchcock didn't exploit the gimmick at all. The only feature I've seen which has awesome 3-D effects and is also is a great movie in its own right is "Andy Warhol's Frankenstein". Don't miss it if it comes around to your local rep theater.

You remember this 3D edition of 'monster chiller horror theater', right?

Oh no, I can't stop on this tangent! This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. And it was only a few months ago that I saw Bergman's "hour of the wolf", which it's lampooning, so I'm about 25 years late on SCTV's references.
