Welcome to Nilbog

A fake trailer for "Troll 2", which long held the title "worst movie of all time" on imdb.com. Now it's a phenomenon. If you haven't seen the movie, this trailer might not be as entertaining, as it reworks an inept horror flick into an acclaimed, heartwarming family drama. This is just one of the hundreds of fan videos available online, but it's best to just rent the original movie first. Better yet, it's currently touring around the country with several of the original castmembers. Click the title above to see if it's coming to your town.

It seems like whenever someone craps out a list of "Worst Movies," they always populate that list with movies that are low quality but (and this is the key contradiction) ENTERTAINING. A LOT of people seem to find Troll 2 entertaining. Truly shitty movies are, in my opinion, the bloated expensive kind which, despite all the special effects and talents of those involved, wind up being unwatchable. Like Jim Belushi movies or the dozens of sappy Sandra Bullock date movies. Or how about Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Deeply unentertaining.

Sure, people often interchange "worst" with "funniest" when describing cult movies, meaning they believe in a universal quality standard for art, and shows their criteria to be messed up. I'm pretty sure that, two decades from now, "daddy day care" won't be selling out theaters around the country, appearing with its original cast, playing to audience members who've memorized all the lines the way they have with "troll 2". Only a handful of movies have that sort of attraction, and they're far from the "worst".

I agree with both of you fellas. If I'm entertained, the film has done it's job. Sure, it may not be glossy and slick, but it entertained me. In this day and age, it's all us poor bastards can hope for.....
